- Assist the Executive Chef in leading and managing the overall kitchen operations and team members.
- Cook food according to guest orders as requested.
- Use food safety best practices and ensure that all kitchen members follow suit.
- Perform appropriate care in a hazardous environment with high-temperature knives and surfaces.
- Assist the Executive Chef in selecting ingredients that will produce the best tasting food.
- Coach other kitchen team members to ensure they perform at their best.
- Order materials to properly stock kitchen inventory.
- Keep up with culinary and restaurant trends to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Work quickly and accurately during busy periods, such as weekends and evenings.
- Occasionally perform extra duties, such as cleaning, when the kitchen is short-staffed or the restaurant is particularly busy.
- Assist the Executive Chef with financial budgeting, such as food costing, kitchen accounting, and reporting losses.
- Achieve kitchen business goals.
- Assist the Executive Chef in leading the operations of individual team members.
- Train, mentor, and develop all kitchen members.
